So, here we start getting into the tracks we began writing after the Patreon was launched. I pitched this to the group, as a demo, with one chorus and one verse, of me singing over midi piano. Ty and Sean picked it up from there, tossing it back and forth, layering on one instrument at a time until it became something fairly close to what it is today. At that time, I'd been coaxing Sean into playing a lead melody on guitar, and he was really adamant about having the lead played by MIDI trumpet instead, and you can't really beat MIDI trumpet in any way (~FM trumpet! Commit yourself to the cheese! -Ty). At about the same time, Beefy dropped a hot-fire bridge unannounced, completing the arrangement. It's nice when things work out.
I feel like our roots in the VGM scene of yesteryear are showing through, here, with our track centering around a re-purposed motif from the Public Domain; and I like it.
Also showing through: our roots as people who met on MC Frontalot's message board.
Love you, babies

lyrics
Positioned on a lay line, in a world of ghosts and time machines
A woman lays her head to sleep, but thinks, instead, of Germany
"One, eight, nine, and seven" vaporize and reappear, forming a date
That's the part you can't stand. Now, here's the part you hate:
I know that you hear
Brahms Lullaby
at four in the morning
I don't want to hear
Brahms Lullaby
ever again
maybe, those prayer beads, cotton balls and noise machines won't help you
Brahms lullaby is coming.
And lullabies don't ever end
Later in the evening you will, don your masquerade half-mask
You step into a party; you're invited. You don't have to ask.
An all-composer gala, of a lavishness beyond belief.
Old Johane's at the piano, pounding out that one motif.
I know that you hear
Brahms Lullaby
at four in the morning
I don't even feel
Brahm's lullaby
is one of his best
I'm into the deep cuts
but otherwise, I'm sticking with
Beethoven
Yes I am
Yes I am
Brahm's lullaby is hummin', and lullabies will give no rest.
Every day the water's running 'round the drain
So every morning fill the sink so I can wash my face again
It's absurd, on the daily catch me pushing up this boulder
But choose to use a smile while the boulder's rolling further away
Hey! Why's it feel we're living in replay?
Hanging out on top a rock you didn't want in the first place?
Searching for your purpose hasn't got you where you wanted
Except for a prescription and more bones inside your closet
You honestly wanted to get through the evening
Without the thought of angels looking at you while you're sleeping
My thy slumber be blessed, better yet, how 'bout this
Should I wake the next day could it be on a breast?
Obsessed with a melody developed in Deutschland
Maybe when we're free we oughta schedule a cat scan
I know that you hear
Brahms Lullaby
at four in the morning
I don't want to hear
Brahms Lullaby
ever again
maybe, those prayer beads, cotton balls and noise machines won't help you
Brahms lullaby is coming.
And lullabies don't ever end

Couldn't have made "BURNER" without the Nerdcore genre this man started. Love this O.G.'s exasperated take on the modern internet, and hope he hasn't given it up entirely! Laurence Warner

Beefy is back! This record bangs even harder than Part 1. Beefy is an artist I will buy music from without hesitation. He's a bad ass and kills it every damn time. If you like killer raps, a good sense of humor and awesome songs then this record is for you. GO GET IT NOW. Matt aka Stormageddon
